Samraksha – Thalassemia Day Care Centre since 2013

Rashtrotthana Blood Centre, initiated the Project Samraksha – the Thalassemia Day Care Centre on 19th August 2013 with the intent of providing integrated, systematic care and management for the disorder to the children and young adults suffering from Thalassemia. Free blood transfusions, blood tests, medicines, food and counselling are provided. Rashtrotthana Blood Centre provides appropriate blood components specifically processed to reduce complications for the children and adults who need blood transfusions throughout their life for survival. This is the first of its kind initiative involving comprehensive care for this dreaded condition in a Non-Government set-up. The core objective of this project is that every child with the condition of Thalassemia must lead a healthy life style.
