With the Academic Support of BASE Institute, Bengaluru, Tapas offers PU Education, IIT-JEE Coaching with food & accommodation freely for the Underprivileged Meritorious Boys. Till now, from 10 Batches 438 Students came out. IIT Bombay done Impact Assessment of Tapas and gave appreciations to the project. Achievements of tapas Till now 36,978 students wrote entrance exams and out of that 483 students got selected.Seat Achievement: 36 IITs, 93 NITs & 263 Top Engg. Colleges Philanthropy Support Allstate India Pvt LtdT-SystemsGlobal Edge Software Objectives of the Project Reach the unreachedEnable educationTransform lives Highlights of Tapas Tapas started in 2012Offers free residential 2-years, 11th & 12th education and coaching for IIT-JEE competitive examsAims to enable selected meritorious underprivileged boys to join India’s premier Engineering Institutes.The students undergo a complete transformation in 2 years that enables them to successfully tackle the very tough IIT-JEE entrance exams while competing against lakhs of very well prepared and privileged students from all over India and emerge successful to join IITs/ NITs. Selection Criteria & Process Students hailing from families whose annual income does not exceed 2 lakhs, and currently studying in class 10 are eligible applicants for this project every year. The level-1 and level-2 entrance exams take place on 25th of December and 26th January every year at 54 different centers across KarnatakaLevel-3 is verification of income through house visitsLevel-4 is the final residential selection camp at BengaluruAfter all the 4 levels, every year 40 students are selected as eligible recipients of the benefits of the project.The selected students are provided free accommodation, food, tuition, study materials & training for a span of 2 years to complete XII std & qualify in IIT-JEE.Academic support is provided by the prestigious BASE Institute.
